The Argentario Ecomuseum deals with the protection, recovery and enhancement of the historical, cultural and natural heritage of a territory, involving local communities and visitors in a process of rediscovering collective memory aimed at sustainable development.

The Argentario Ecomuseum territory includes all the Plateau of Monte Calisio, a 1096m top overlooking the city of Trento. The borders are represented by the Valle del Torrente Avisio to the north, the Silla Valley with the lakes of Lases and Valle to the east, the Forra del Fersina to the south and the Adige Valley to the west.

From the administrative point of view, the territory is part of the municipalities of Trento (Argentario and Meano districts), Civezzano, Fornace and Albiano.

Born to protect the traces of medieval mining activity, the Argentario Ecomuseum is now working to exploit the numerous and diversified riches of this area: from ancient mines to local stone quarries, from naturalistic beauties to traces of the Great War, from small villages up to old trades and local agricultural products.

To make the area known, the Argentinean Ecomuseum Association invests heavily in educational activities for schoolsgroups and families guided tours, as well as on the promotion of events, organized in collaboration with local associations and companies, with the Trento Ecomuseum Network and other museum institutions.

Thanks to the fundamental contribution of the SAT - Tridentini Alpine Society, the Ecomuseum also deals with the maintenance of the trail network that allows you to explore the area best. The Calisio-Argentario plateau on which the Ecomuseum stretches is crossed by a dense network of paths with minimum altimetric altitudes that make it accessible to everyone, even on bikes or horseback

The Ecomuseum offers its visitors several thematic itineraries, some of them with illustrated panels or signaled through the classic white and red trails of the SAT-CAI type: the hiking network on the plateau currently covers about 180 km.
