Canestro was born in Rome in 1983 upon a group of natural products consumers's initiative, with the aim of promoting the production and consumption of organic products.
Over the years, it has been carrying out an unprecedented activity of information about nutrition, health and environmental protection through publications, gastronomic events, conventions and festivals.
The first sales point, in the Rome Testaccio district, prompted the attention of consumers in a short time thanks to a selective proposal of the best national organic production, accompanied by continuous and transparent information provided to consumers.
In 1991 with the opening of the other sales points in the Trieste and Trastevere districts, Canestro further improved the quality of the offered services.
You can find the full range of food requirements, such as fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy products and cheeses, bread, baby foods, celiac products and food intolerances, soybean products, seitan and a herbal and phytocosmical ward in the three retail outlets of 200 sq. All products are organic certified.
In 1995 the Naturist Bar Coffee Shop was inaugurated adjacent to the point of sale of Viale Gorizia, where the dishes offered are exclusively prepared with organic raw materials.
The online shop opens in 2014.
