CinemAmbiente is the leading film festival in Italy dedicated to environmental issues where films and documentaries on nature and sustainability are presented internationally.
The festival, which began in 1998 with the goal of promoting environmental culture through cinema, is held annually at the Cinema Massimo within the National Cinema Museum of Turin.
Over the years, the event has seen a steady rise in public interest, establishing itself as one of the key international appointments in the field of environmental cinema.
Each edition features around 100 films, divided among competitive sections—both international and Italian—and special categories such as Special Events and CinemAmbiente Junior, the latter specifically designed for a younger audience.
The Festival also offers a rich program of side events, including talks, debates, exhibitions, book presentations, theatre performances, concerts, and activities spread across the local area.
CinemAmbiente is a zero emissions event since the CO2 produced is offset through the CO2 reduction platform. Moreover, the event is plastic free as only recycled materials with Ecolabel and FSC certification are used.
